Anyway, I'm going to try to press on! Since I haven't been getting lots of sleep, we haven't been doing much during the day, thus not producing very interesting blog posts. I have wanted to show off my girl's bedrooms since Kelly over at Kelly's Korner had her "Show Us Where You Live" blog party. When she had children's room, I didn't have a blog at that time, so if your ready.......away we go!!
I will start with Gracie's room. With my first born daughter, I wanted everything pink, but with Gracie I wanted to do something different. As you can see, I went with blue. When my mother and I went to look for material for bedding, I was open to anything, but I just didn't want pink. We went to our favorite fabric stores King Cotton and Calico Corners. The people at both stores were very helpful and very patient with us. I found the floral fabric first (now that is a tongue twister) and fell in love with it and just started adding fabric form there. My mother made ALL of the bedding and curtains! She is very talented and is a perfectionist. I couldn't have bought anything that was made a well as the bedding that my mother made. She also made Emily's bedding, which you will see next week.
My Aunt Carol painted this banner that hangs over G's bed. We also put it on the door at the hospital when G was born. Thanks Aunt Carol! My mother-in-law, Cheryl, is also a wonderful painter, and you will see a beautiful banner that she painted for Emily next week.
I found this table at a yard sale for $3.00 and the lamp for $2.00. My neighbor gave me the lamp shade which I am going to cover with some leftover fabric. Now that is a pretty good deal!!! Gracie sleeps with the CD player playing rain all night long. You gotta do what you gotta do to get them to sleep!! I need to find one at a yard sale that matches her room.
I love anything monogrammed. My mother also did this!!
I found this sign at KooKoo Bear Kids. I just love what it says!! I can see Emily and Gracie playing together and sharing secrets and it just makes me smile.

I need to add a few more things to her room. I would like to find a cute mirror or you know, just whatever that I find that I can't live without. I hope you liked the tour of G's room!!! Stay tuned for Em's room next week!! Later all!!
Adorable room, I LOVE it. Where did you get the sister will you sign? Of course I'll need to have a baby girl before I buy, but..... Ha!
ReplyDeleteI hope you start sleeping better, I'll pray for you.
