Let's Celebrate

I hope everyone that reads this blog had a great weekend. I know some of you were snowed in, but for the locals it was just plain cold and rainy. We did have snow but it didn't stick. I must say I'm glad it didn't stick, but I'm sure Emily would say different.

One of my oldest and dearest friends, Jennifer, called us Saturday morning and asked us if we wanted to go celebrate with her and her husband. Celebrate what, you may ask. Jennifer then informed me that she was selected our county's Secondary Education Teacher of the Year. She is a Math teacher and from what I hear, the best around. We are very proud of her and are keeping our fingers crossed that she will win at the State and National levels also! Her husband Jeff said he would take her to eat anywhere she wanted to go and she decided on Ruth's Chris and called and asked us along. I have never been to Ruth's Chris, but I have heard lots of good things about it, so Chris and I were game. And let me tell you....I'm so glad they called us because I do believe it was the best meal that I have ever had!!!! A definite 2 thumbs up!

The deserts on the menu looked wonderful, but Jeff suggested that on the way home we stop by Krispy Kreme! Another fantastic idea!
We got the girls a sprinkled doughnut and they were so happy. I wish you could have seen Gracie running wide open after she ate hers! She was on a definite sugar high!
We had such a good time. I'm so glad they called and invited us. We use to live right down the road from each other and we did stuff all the time, now it's once every couple of months. But hey, that better than nothing, right? I don't know why a 30 minute drive has made such a difference but it has. Thanks again, Jennifer, and congratulations!!! We hope you win it all!
