Busy Day

Gracie had her 9 month checkup today. It was an early appointment, so we had to get up and get moving!!! Luckily everyone was up and at'em this morning. Gracie has had a terrible time getting rid of a right ear infection that started 6 weeks ago. I was eager to hear what the Dr. had to say about it. Well, it looks like we are in for a set of ear tubes. We will know more next week when we see the ENT, so I will keep you posted on that.

I was also excited to see how much she weighed!!! A big 22lbs and she is 29 inches long. Boy, how she has grown in just 9 months!!! The Dr. told me that she could eat any soft food I wanted to fix her, but no peanut butter or eggs, and that if I wanted to, I could put her in a forward facing car seat. She definitely meets the weight requirement for one!!! And it looks like she is going to have "vampire" teeth just like her big sister. Both of the girls "fang" teeth came in before the front ones did. This time I know I won't worry about them like I did with Emily!!!! I just knew I would have to get her some little false teeth, but before long they came right on in.

I still have to post pictures of Emily's birthday party. I'm going to need a lot of time to do it, so hopefully tomorrow!!!!

Later All!!!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Emily!!!!

Four years ago today, I found the meaning of love. Yes, I love my husband and my family, but this is the kind of love that can only be summed up in one sentence by your parents..."You'll understand when you have kids". From the day we headed out those hospital doors into the BIG world I was suppose to protect Emily from, I knew my life would never be the same.

Her 1st Birthday came way too fast!!! It seemed like I blinked and there it was. I laugh when I think back because I thought to myself "We made it one whole year and she's still alive.......I CAN do this!!!!"

Who am I kidding, all you Emily's birthdays have come too fast!!! Here she is turning 2!!!

At her third birthday party we went to Aunt Janine's for a swim party. I think it was the best party by far.

Now a little birthday note to my daughter.
I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. 1 Samuel 1:27
Emily, I knew you before you were even born. I always dreamed of having a daughter with a smile that could light up a room and energy beyond measure. I had your name picked out years before your were born, and when I saw your little face, your were my dream come true!!! Over the years, I have seen you crawl, walk, then run. I've heard you jabber, say words that were frankly too big for a small child to say, and then make sentences that made me laugh out loud. Gracie is fortunate to have a big sister that loves here so much and I pray that you two will be the best of friends. You are the best parts of me and your Daddy and I hope that we give you great memories that shape you into a happy adult. Your life will be full of many choices, but my hope for you is that you seek God in ALL that you do. Your relationship with the Lord is the most important relationship you will have. It amazes me to think He love you more than I do!!
I love you little one!!! I hope you have the best 4th Birthday ever!!!

For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Fun Friday!!!

With the forecast of rain for most of the weekend, Friday was our chance to get outside and play. Earlier in the week I had purchased a sprinkler at Walmart. Of course we had to get a pink sprinkler because that is Emily's signature color. We were all excited about seeing how it worked, so while Gracie was napping Emily and I decided to go outside and get everything set up. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see that it did not lay flat to the ground but that it had a plastic spike that you pushed into the dirt. Well, Emily is not to crazy about getting grass on her feet, so my goal was to set the sprinkler on the driveway, but with the spike thing that was just not going to happen. So now I have to shoot from the hip.......what to do....what to do.... I tried to dig a small hole to put it in, but that didn't work either. Emily, in the mean time, is reminding me that she is ready to get wet, which only adds to my frustration. Then I come up with the brilliant idea to prop it up against a small exercise trampoline that we have. Money!!!! It worked, but I didn't realize that I had the water pointing in the direction of my cell phone, and it got soaked. Still in good spirits, I thought to myself that I would simply move the water hose(and trampoline and sprinkler) over. I should have gotten more slack in the hose because when I pulled the sprinkler, I pulled the whole spigot out of the sprinkler!!! After that I had a full meltdown and this is where the sprinkler ended up......

Emily was not too happy that I broke her sprinkler, but I promised her that when Gracie woke up from her nap that we would go to Dollar General to get another one. They had a ton of that stuff there last week, but last week we didn't need it. It was SLIM pickins !!! We settled on this cute little whale . The water was supposed to spray out of the yellow thing, but I guess our water pressure was too much for it and it busted out the back of the whale. We just had to make do with what we had.

Emily looks like she is having fun. I get an "A" for effort!!!

By the time Gracie got outside it was WAY HOT!!!!! I set up the umbrella for her and she stayed cool as a cucumber in the shade. She is having a nice refreshing piece of ice in her teether. She loved it!!!!

Emily needed some refreshing too!!! She loves Bomb pops, but then again, she likes all popsicles.

Later that night, Gran and G-daddy came to stay with the girls while Chris and I went to grab a bite with Maggie and Jamie. I'm not real sure how much fun Jamie and Chris had, but Maggie and I had a blast!!!! All-in-all, Friday was a pretty good day!!!

Ready For A Stroll

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything, but frankly, not much has been going on. Last week we had VBS and by the time we got home every night, the computer was the last thing I wanted to fool with. Now that life is back to normal, I will try to post a little something everyday. According to my loving brother-in-law, I shouldn't call my blog Angie's Daily News if I'm only going to post once a week!!! I think your right Jamie!!
I don't know about you, but I love getting something new. For awhile I have been thinking of getting a double stroller for Emily and Gracie, but I just didn't want to spend the money. I shopped and looked at all kinds of strollers before I made my decision. And by the way, some of the strollers I looked at cost as much as a used car!!!! But thanks to Walmart, I found a great deal. It was on sale and if you have if shipped to the store, the shipping is free!!! Well, you can't beat free shipping!!!!

I got it Tuesday afternoon, but by the time I got it put together (yes, I did it by myself), it was too late to take it for a spin. The afternoons are just so hot and we had to start getting ready for Bible School, so I just pushed the girls around the house. They have assigned seats and since Emily was here first I let her pick which seat she wanted. I think they are going to love riding together.

On Wednesday night (the last night of VBS ) I took the stroller to church so Gracie and Sophie Clare could enjoy it!!! Each night of VBS Brenda, Faye, and Pam would push the girls around the church. The last night they got to ride together, but I think these little sweethearts were so tired they really didn't care.

I still need to post some pics of VBS so look for those soon.
Later Gators!!!

Bed Head!

Now that Gracie can roll over real good, she is sleeping all over her bed!!! In this picture, which I know she will kill me for taking when she gets older, her little behind is sticking straight up in the air!!! And when she sleeps like this, it makes her eyes look like..........

This!!! Just a little puffy in the morning. She gets that from me. Sorry baby!!!

And her hair looks like this!!!

Emily is such a sweet big sister to help Gracie tame that wild mane!!! I hope she is not tell her that when she gets bigger she can run and scream when we try to brush her hair. Which is what Emily does when you try to brush her hair!!! You would think we are killing her!! Oh well, just something else I will pray she'll grow out of!!!

Keep Gracie in your prayers. She has a nasty ear infection that won't go away!!! We went to the Dr. again today, so hopefully third times the charm!!!
Later all!!!!

8 Years and Counting!!

I can't believe Chris and I have been married for 8 years. Some days it seems just like yesterday and some days it feels like forever(you all know what I'm talking about.)

When I look at this picture (which by the way, my scanner won't scan so I had to take a picture of a picture) I try to think what I was thinking about that day. The excitement and nervousness of the wedding I'm sure was in the front of my mind. I'm sure I could never have imagined the life I have now!!! I have a husband that gets up and goes to church every Sunday and makes it a priority that his family goes with him. I have a husband who has patience beyond measure, even when I don't make life very easy for him. I also have a husband that shown me forgiveness and how to forgive even when it wasn't the easiest thing to do. And I have a husband who works so that I can stay home with my girls, which is the biggest blessing of all.

Has it always been easy? NO! Have I always been the best wife? NO! But as I look over the last 8 years, we have made a lot of memories and had a lot of laughs. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

We Got the Golden Ticket!!

If any of you have ever seen "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", you know that the Golden Ticket is a big deal. Well, it's just as big a deal if you are fans of The Rick and Bubba Show! My friend Jennifer had called back in January and had gotten tickets for her family to visit the radio show while it is being taped. Last month, she called and asked me if Chris and I wanted to go with her and her husband. Of course we said YES!! We both love Rick and Bubba and have since they were at a local radio station and they were only known by the locals. Now they can be heard across the country and even across the world via the internet. If you have not heard their show, they are two men that love the Lord and are not afraid to say it. They also stand up for what is biblically right even when it doesn't go along with mainstream society. These days there is not a lot of that going on. Most people in the media try to stay neutral or swing way to the left on political and moral issues. But not these guys!! They stand firm on the Word, which is what we need more of today!! And another bonus is that they are way funny!!

Because you have to get the tickets so far in advance, you never know if there will be a special guest that day or not. We got lucky!! Ruben Studdard, former American Idol was there and we got to hear him perform live. It was pretty neat. He came around and shook our hands and introduced himself(as if we didn't already know who he was). He also gave us a copy of his new CD.

Rick and Bubba gave everyone copies of their new book and signed it for us. I started reading it on they way home and it is pretty good. I'll let you know how it is when I finish reading it. In the back they put a "Best Of" CD with all their funny marriage moments that happened with their wives while they were on the air. Chris and I put it in when we go in the car and laughed all the way home.

During the commercial breaks they would come over and talk to us and let us take pictures. Everyone we came into contact with was super sweet and made us feel like part of the Rick and Bubba family.

I had so much fun and I know it is something I definitely want to do again. Jennifer and Jeff, thank you again for asking us. We had a blast!!!
