Gulf Shores Day 1

Oh, my friends....you will be so tired of beach pictures before this is finished!!! I will apologize before hand, but this is a very special trip to me because it was our first trip as a family of four. Four....even, perfect and complete!

Emily has been asking to go back to the beach for several years now, but for one reason or the other, we've not been able to go. Whether it be moving or having babies or whatever reason, this trip has been a long time coming. As I told you before, we left after church on Wednesday night with the plans that the girls would sleep all the way to the beach. Well, our plan worked a little. Emily slept the whole way, Gracie slept a little over an hour and was up the rest of the time. She was a little fussy because she wanted the pillow that Em had, but she wasn't getting that, so she made do. We got there around 1 am and went to the room and guess what.....the number to the key pad on the door lock didn't work. So luckily, the condo was owned by a church friend and we called him up. I hated to do that in the middle of the night, but what other choice did we have? There was noway I was sleeping in the car!! No need to worry, he told us how to get in, and all was well!!! Emily and Gracie were so excited!!! They ran all over the condo! But we got them into bed as SOON as we could!!!

Em was so fired up! She couldn't wait to hit the beach!!!

Gracie liked it okay. She had to warm up to it again every morning. Don't you love the hunter's orange ear plugs!!! You gotta-do-what- you-gotta-do right?

Gracie like the ocean better than I thought she would. But needless to say, we didn't go in very far. I'm weired about water that I can't see the bottom of, so we weren't much deeper than our knees.

Thursday night we decided to eat at LuLu's. Chris and I had never eaten there before, so it was new to us as well as to the girls. I loved the atmosphere!!!! They have a ton of sand for the kid to play in and that was right up Emmy and Gracie's ally!!! We were right next to the sand so we could watch them play while we ate.

There was a couple playing music and Gracie loved it when they played "I'll Fly Away". Just like any Southern Baptist lady, she loves a hymn.

Gracie sure watched this girl in the water trough. I just knew she was going to crawl in at any minute, but she didn't.

Emily loved LuLu's so much that she cried when we left. Hindsight being what it is, we should have went another night because everyone was just so tired from going to bed at 2 am. But she was over it by the time we crossed the bridge. And let me tell you, these kids slept like rocks that night!!!
Hope y'all enjoyed installment 1 of our beach trip. Stay tuned!
